An interesting archive of ephemera relating to Expo '70 comprising: 29 paper cut-outs illustrations of pavilions and 66 colour commercial photographs and postcards from the Expo with handwritten captions, in a 33.5 x 30cm "Memories of Expo '70" Easy Mount album or adhesive photograph album with original cardboard box. 22 postcards in original case, 4 entrance tickets and a ticket to the "Fun House", 5 folding brochures and 3 stapled wrappers advertising tour packages featuring the Expo, 3 travel guides in stapled wrappers, "Map of Japan", 8 folding brochures from the Expo including guides for the Burma and Republic of China pavilions, official guide in wrappers and stapled booklet titled "Guide to Lodgings for Foreigners during Expo '70", Seiko watch brochure, 6 magazines in stapled wrappers with articles featuring Japan and the Expo, including items likely from Hotel New Otani and Hilton Tokyo and a TIME magazine from 2 March 1970. Text in English and Japanese. Light signs of use but overall a very interesting in very good condition.

A fascinating insight into an Australian visitor's experiences during his visit to Japan for the 1970 World Exposition held in Osaka. Expo '70 was the first World Exposition held outside Euro-America and set new records in the number of participating countries and visitors. It was the fruit of long-standing aspirations to host an international exhibition that Japan had since the Meiji years and served as a celebration of Japan's post-war recovery.
