Drawing on official records, local gazettes and navy reports, the text discusses military fortifications like the Fujian navy and coastal watchtowers, as well as policies such as the Ming Dynasty sea bans. It also examines Fujian’s role in trade and conflicts, including Zheng Chenggong's resistance against the Qing.
