2 volumes in 1. Volume 15, 39pp, Volume 16, 40pp, black and white woodblock printed text on folded leaves, Chinese five-stab binding, 31.2 x 20.5cm, text in traditional Chinese characters. On the upper cover the title 舫山集 八 [Collected Works of (Mr) Fangshan - eight] is handwritten in ink. Chinese five hole stab binding. Some staining at the margins throughout, though more clearly visible on first and last leaves, particularly, but not exclusively in margins, some worming to worn and marked covers and lower margins of first leaves, all neatly repaired with washi, string has bled a little onto surrounding paper covered card covers.

These two volumes bound as one are part of a classical Chinese literary collection by Li Kaixian 李开先, a Ming dynasty scholar-official, dramatist, and encyclopedist. It reflects Neo-Confucian thought, poetry, and essays on governance. Li Kaixian was also known as Fangshan Jushi 舫山居士, hence the name of the book.
