Colour map, black and white photographic illustrations, 53 x 38 cm, folds into 18.2 x 9 cm, small hole at a fold point, a little light wear along folds but otherwise very good.

An attractive folding map and travel guide to Korea, produced by the Railway Bureau of the Japanese colonial government. The cover illustration depicts a Korean woman with a toddler carrying a basket on her head just outside a city gate. The map shows the Korean Peninsula with major towns clearly marked, and is bordered by a series of black-and-white photographs of notable landmarks, including a cityscape of Seoul and Pyongyang.

The reverse of the map includes a range of practical travel information, detailing the country’s railway network and suggested itineraries covering key destinations. It also provides more in-depth descriptions of sights along five principal railway routes: from Busan to Seoul (Keijō); from Seoul to Andong; from Daejeon to Mokpo; from Seoul to Wonsan; and from Wonsan to Hoeryong.
