Each of the stereographs are captioned, and show women making silk worm nests and the other women tending new American looms in in one of the largest silk weaving plants in Kiryu (with suited male overseers in the middleground). A pair of stereographs, mounted on studio card, 9 x 17.7 cms, each with the studio's imprint, catalogue number and caption, and on the verso printed explanatory notes (in English), the thick backing card a little bowed, the inked stamp of the Narragansett [Rhode Island] Library Association to the verso of one card, the images with sharp definition and minimal age toning, in very good clean condition.
