This large tome, compiled by Sun Chengze in the early Qing Dynasty, was first published around the late 17th century. It documents the institutions, palaces, temples, geography and customs in Beijing during the Ming Dynasty. It includes rare records of ceremonies, city layouts, and bureaucratic systems blending historical facts with anecdotes and personal observations - a hybrid of scholarship and memoir.
