Colour folding sugoroku game sheet with games printed on both sides. 53.8 x 77cm. Some neat washi repairs at closed tears and folding points, occasional light browning.

These two sugoroku games, printed on both sides of a single sheet, were published in January 1936 as a supplement to Yōnen Kurabu (Young Children’s Club). The main game celebrates Admiral Tōgō, who had died in May 1934, portraying his military career in colour. It narrates the story of his life, from childhood through to his achievements as a commander and national hero, with strong emphasis on his hard work and devotion to the nation.

On the reverse is a sugoroku for young readers, illustrated with lively, playful scenes by the popular artist Miyao Shigeo.
