Three coloured maps of which two are double page, four colour images of paintings, two of which are folding, profusely illustrated with black and white photographic illustrations throughout, 209pp, 26 x 19 cm, original protective case, packed with photographs not frequently seen. Very light occasional foxing, a very good copy in original card slipcase.

This publication, marked "not for sale" was compiled by the military media section and chronicles the advancement of the South China Expeditionary Army between 1938 and 1939 with numerous photographs and other illustrations.

The book starts with portraits of Japanese Imperial family members and follows troop advancements through Hainan Island, Guangdong Province and its cities. The photographs include landscapes and cityscapes of South China where Japanese troops made their advance.
