Colour pictorial map, 38.5 x 53.5cm, folded into 19.5 x 8cm, place names in Japanese and English, blue and white photographic illustrations and text on reverse, inset maps in blue, green and white on reverse, folds into attractive coloured covers titled in English and Japanese. A little light wear, few neat repairs at folds, a good copy of a charming lighthearted map.

This colourful pictorial map of Mt. Fuji and surrounding five lakes is filled with humourous cartoon figures and their amusing comments. The national park of Mt. Fuji and its surrounding areas is filled with beautiful natural features for holidaymakers. The cartoon figures in the map are engaging in various activities, including hiking, swimming and camping. Of course, climbing Mt. Fuji is the major activity. Interestingly, a closer look at the map reveals that many American servicemen and their families are featured here. They are having fun just as the Japanese visitors are. The addition of Americans to the map indicates it was probably intended for both Japanese and American tourists.
