12 volumes, including the Supplemental Nights (vols 9-12), 71 photogravure illustrations complete with captioned tissue guards (including a frontispiece in each volume), title-pages printed in red and black, with the additional facsimile Kamashastra Society imprint title-pages, top edges gilt, fore-edges untrimmed; original half maroon morocco with green linen boards, 26 x 17cm, spines gilt decorated in compartments between raised bands and gilt lettered in English and Arabic, marbled endpapers, with bookseller’s ticket of A.H. Spencer; prelims and fore-edges a little foxed, scant foxing elsewhere, a gathering in the first two volumes a little shaken, a couple of text leaves with minor edge tears, but the fine illustrations clean, with fine deep tone, a handsomely bound set in very good condition.

The handsome H.S. Nichols' Library Edition of Burton's classic work with fine photogravure illustrations. Nichols included reproductions of the original "Kamashastra Society" title pages, reprinting the original 16-volume work into the 12-volume Library Edition, following Burton's death in 1890.
