One hundred colour postcard-sized reproductions of woodblock prints, each measuring 9.2 x 14cm, with titles in English and Japanese and an explanatory paragraph in Japanese. The reproductions are presented in an album with pre-cut corner slots for mounting each image, one hundred double-folded light card leaves. Titles in Japanese and English on the spine. 30 x 24cm. Original pictorial slipcase. A very good copy indeed, though the slipcase shows some wear and minor loss in places.

A collection of one hundred delicately reproduced Japanese ukiyo-e prints and includes works by Sharaku, Utamaro, Eisen, Hiroshige, Hokusai and others. The publisher, Takamizawa Mokuhansha, was established in 1911 by two brothers of a renowned wood block print reproducer, Takamizawa Enji (高見沢遠治), and continues to publish fine wood block prints up to the present. These prints have been branded as the Takamizawa Prints due to its high quality. This publication is to mark the Japanese Imperial Year of 2597 (1937) and the 22nd year since the founding of the Takamizawa Prints.
