Attractive 18th century maps prepared for the influential "Le Petit Atlas Maritime" by the eminent French hydrographer Jacques Nicolas Bellin, (1703-1772). The main map shows the entrance to the Ganges River (and its course up to "Ugli", now Hooghly) and the inset map showing the entrance to the Aracam River in present-day Myanmar. Including depth soundings, sandbanks and coastal landmarks essential for sailors of the French East India Company.
