Part I. Colour and black and white illustrations, 66 panels, accordion style binding with title label on upper cover, 21.5 x 15cm. Lower endpaper creased, repairs along fold where covers join the contents, cloth covered boards lightly faded in a few places, lower board a little canted. Still a very attractive book.

This beautifully illustrated book on flower arrangements was published in 1941. The Japanese flower arrangement has two main styles according to the types of containers they use: basin and vase. This instruction book shows how to arrange variety of flowers in various types of basins. Double page illustrations feature arrangements in colour on the right and in black and white on the right with numbers. The numbers on the right indicate the sequence of putting the flowers together. The illustrations are finely drawn and delicately coloured. Types of flowers featured here are all different.
